There are 81 possible combinations of results on Sunday night in the race for a Champions League spot, so here’s what Roma, Milan, Juventus and Como need for the top four.

All their matches kick off simultaneously at 19.45 UK time (20.45 CEST).

This is to ensure fairness so that nobody has an advantage by knowing the other results ahead of time.

It is also important to note that goal difference is irrelevant in Serie A, so if two or more teams finish on the same points, they are divided by their head-to-head record.

With four games played and only two Champions League spots left, there is still the possibility that if the Rossoneri and Roma both draw, Como and Juventus win, all these teams will be level on 71 points.

In that situation, a mini-league table would be drawn up of all their head-to-head results.

It would put Max Allegri’s men on 10 points (+3 goal difference), Como on 10 points (+2 goal difference), Juventus 6 points, Roma 5 points, so the first two would enter the Champions League.

They are divided by points first, then goal difference, then goal difference overall, goals scored, and eventually the drawing of lots.

So let’s look at the record.
