Nicolas Jackson has commenced pre-season training with Chelsea but his future remains uncertain with several clubs interested in his signature. The Senegal international has returned to the Blues after a fairly unspectacular loan spell at Bayern Munich with the Bundesliga giants opting against signing him permanently. Jackson has shown flashes of promise at Chelsea but he’s been unable to produce on a consistent basis with his minutes expected to be limited if he remains next season.

João Pedro will unquestionably be Xabi Alonso’s first-choice striker, while Danny Welbeck has arrived to provide Premier League experience and Emmanuel Emegha could make an impact. The Daily Mail has reported that Chelsea will consider offers for Jackson amid interest and value him at around €76 million with Alonso admitting his future is an ongoing process. “Nico is a great player, a threat against any defence so we want players that can compete,” said Alonso. “Nico for sure is one of them. We need to go day-by-day checking options but we are happy Nico is with us.” With interest building in Jackson, we’ve analysed four potential destinations for the 25-year-old.

Four transfer options for Nicolas Jackson

Tottenham

It’s been claimed that Tottenham hold an interest in Jackson with Roberto De Zerbi eyeing a new centre-forward this summer. Despite being rivals, Chelsea are unlikely to withstand offers if they are in the ballpark of their valuation. Chelsea’s asking price of €76m is almost double Jackson’s current market value of €40m, so it remains a difficult deal to envisage being completed. Spurs have backed De Zerbi substantially so far this summer and Jackson would tick plenty of boxes of what the Italian wants from his number nine.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa have been strongly linked to Jackson this summer from reputable sources and there was plenty of speculation around the time Morgan Rogers moved in the opposite direction. Unai Emery knows him well from their time together at Villareal and Villa are expected to strengthen their squad after selling several key players. Ollie Watkins remains Villa’s leading striker but he will turn 31 this season while the highly-rated Brian Madjo remains 17.

Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce are in the market for a new striker this summer and Jackson is just one of the many names to be rumoured. There’s an abundance of players rumoured with moves to the biggest Turkish clubs but there seems to be legitimate interest in Jackson. Fener’s record signing is €39m so that pours some cold water on a potential move for Jackson due to Chelsea’s asking price.

Besiktas

Besiktas have also been linked with Jackson and the Black Eagles are extremely ambitious after previously pursuing a move for M ohamed Salah. As mentioned with Fernerbahce, Besitkas’ record signing stands at €30m so there is little realistic chance of them signing Jackson on a permanent deal. A loan move could be pursued as wages wouldn’t be an issue but Chelsea would prefer a permanent sale.
