Ederson gives priority to Manchester United

The Brazilian’s decision to put all other conversations on hold is a significant development, effectively clearing the path for United to finalise an important signing to bolster their midfield.

With Casemiro set to leave the club at the end of his contract, and Manuel Ugarte failing to convince, the Red Devils are in need of a new midfield reinforcement.

Atletico Madrid had previously been considered serious rivals, having agreed personal terms with the player, but their failure to meet Atalanta’s €40-50 million asking price appears to have cost them their place at the front of the queue.
