Arsenal have agreed to sell Leandro Trossard to Turkish outfit Beşiktaş after the World Cup, according to reports. The Belgium international looks poised to bring the curtain down on his three-and-a-half-year spell at the Emirates Stadium as he nears a €20 million move to the Süper Lig.

According to the The Athletic, Beşiktaş will pay €18m up front to Arsenal, which could rise to €20m with a further €2m in add-ons. It represents a significant investment from the Black Eagles, who are set to complete their biggest transfer deal since signing Turkey international Orkun Kökçü after signing him permanently from Benfica for €30m.

The deal is yet to be finalised, as Beşiktaş still need to agree personal terms with Trossard and the Belgian winger has a contract with the north London outfit until June 2027. But it will pave the way for Mikel Arteta to ramp up his interest in Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, their top summer target, to replace Trossard on the left flank. Villa value Rogers at around €151.7m and offloading Trossard will add some funds to their war chest.

Leandro Trossard to Besiktas

Trossard joined the Gunners from Brighton in January 2023 for €24 million and has since made 174 appearances, contributing to 70 goals. Last season, Trossard scored eight goals and provided 11 assists in 50 appearances. With Arsenal, he won the Premier League title for the first time since 2004 and was also in the starting line-up for the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, which the French side won on penalties.

He is currently at the World Cup Belgium and, with four goal contributions in as many games, he has played a decisive role in the team’s progression to the round of 16, where they will face co-hosts USA. The deal is not expected to go through until Belgium's participation is complete.
