Paris Saint-Germain traveled to Anfield to take on Liverpool FC with a place in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League on the line.
After the 2-0 win at the Parc des Princes last week, PSG knew to expect an attack-minded Liverpool side who desperately needed to score goals to stay alive in the tournament.
In the 31st minute, Liverpool pressed forward with an attack, and Mohamed Salah whipped in a dangerous cross that PSG failed to clear. Matvey Safonov was forced to get low to make the save but was unable to prevent the round. With Virgil van Dijk rushing forward to score the tap-in, Marquinhos was able to get into position and make the goal-saving block.
After the play, Marquinhos sat on the rain-soaked pitch and yelled in excitement. His block could be the defining moment of the match and what sees PSG advance to the next round where they will face either Real Madrid or FC Bayern Munich.
