Antonio Conte found his Napoli future uncertain at the end of last season and that is the case once again. The former Serie A champions would have to meet some conditions in order to keep the Italian beyond this season.
Il Mattino – via AreaNapoli, report that Conte is actually happy in Naples and wants to stay at the Partenopei. But he isn’t keen on accepting compromises over the sporting project and he has never accepted those even at Inter and Juventus.
Conte believes he was often left alone when he was battling against referees earlier this season. He also hasn’t hidden his discontent about several things that were promised to him on arrival in 2024. The club’s infrastructure hasn’t quite improved and this has caused trouble for Conte. He can overlook that but from next season onwards, he wants a separation between the sporting side of the club and everything else.
That is a line Aurelio de Laurentiis isn’t meant to cross either. The Napoli owner dooes have plans of his own, though. He wants to keep the Champions League qualification as an objective but wants to reduce the wage bill and sign about four or five players in the summer.
It remains to be seen if Conte agrees but conditions from both parties are now already on the table.
