Dumfries is among the players who could leave Inter this summer due to the fact that he has a €25m release clause in his contract. Reports indicate that this clause will be valid only for teams outside of Italy and that it will expire in mid-July.
According to the likes of Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio, Real Madrid are among the clubs interested in taking advantage of the release clause in Dumfries’s Nerazzurri contract. Di Marzio claims that there has been an initial approach from the 15-time Champions League winners.
Selling Dumfries this summer could help Inter towards coming up with the funds they need to land a deal for Italy talent Palestra, who is valued in the region of €50m.
Reports over the weekend claimed that Inter are ready to make Palestra their ‘priority’ signing this transfer window, although more recent updates suggest that they will face stiff competition from the Premier League from the likes of Manchester City, Newcastle United or potentially Champions League finalists Arsenal.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that an initial offer of €40m plus €5m in bonuses will not be enough to satisfy Atalanta, who are adamant that they will not sell for anything under €50m.
