Locatelli’s previous deal had been due to expire in the summer of 2028, and recent reports indicate that his new deal comes with an increase in wages from around €3m per season to roughly €4m per year.
The Italy international signed off on his contract on Friday, which was officially announced later on the same afternoon.
Locatelli joined Juventus in a €37.5m deal from Sassuolo in 2021 and has since gone on to make 224 appearances for the club across all competitions, registering nine goals and 17 assists during that time.
His is the latest in a series of important contract extensions for Juventus this season, following the lengthening of contracts for head coach Luciano Spalletti, star attacker Kenan Yildiz and versatile midfielder Weston McKennie, who would have been out of contract in the summer without a new deal.
What Juventus said about Locatelli’s new deal
“We all remember when Manuel, upon his arrival in 2021, spoke with great emotion about having always been a Juventus fan,” said CEO Damien Comolli in a statement on the club website.
“His contract renewal therefore represents the natural continuation of the growth of his leadership on the pitch, of his indomitable Juventus spirit, in complete harmony with the values and ambitions of our Club. It is a further step towards giving solidity and continuity to our sporting project, with an eye to the future and the goal of making the team increasingly competitive.”
