In the latest episode of his podcast, Gianluca Di Marzio revealed some behind-the-scenes details about Roma’s plans for their next sporting director.
Gianluca Di Marzio, in “Caffè Di Marzio,” the podcast created in collaboration between TuttoMercatoWeb.com and Gianlucadimarzio.com, among other topics, touched on the choice Roma will soon have to make for their new sporting director.
“On the Giallorossi’s intention to find someone who can work alongside Gasperini’s ideas: “It’s true that both Roma and Lazio are focused on the present, on a derby that will be played soon, on Roma’s Champions League qualification, and on Lazio’s Coppa Italia win. But the Giallorossi are working to find a new sporting director – even though Massara is still under contract – and have already decided to find someone else who can work more closely with Gasperini’s ideas.”
“Roma would like Manna, Napoli’s sporting director. The Friedkins made the move themselves because Manna was the sporting director who wanted Gasperini at Napoli during the Dublin final. Contacts between the two were very frequent, even positive.”
“Gasperini is insisting that Manna leave Napoli, but De Laurentiis wants to enforce the contract. If Manna doesn’t arrive, Toni D’Amico could certainly come up again.
