Wirtz Gets 7, Van Dijk With 5 | Liverpool Players Rated In Dismal Loss Vs Manchester City

Liverpool faced off against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the FA Cup. The Reds made a decent start to the game, but conceded the opening goal in the 39th minute when Erling Haaland scored from the penalty spot. Haaland doubled his team’s advantage in the first half injury time as Arne Slot’s men went into the half-time break 2-0 down on the scoreline.

Antoine Semenyo scored Man City’s third goal in the 50th minute before Haaland completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute. The contest ended with the Merseyside club suffering a dismal 4-0 loss at the Etihad.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player fared during the clash against Man City.

GK: Giorgi Mamardashvili – 5.5/10

He made a few solid saves at the back but conceded four goals this afternoon.

RB: Joe Gomez – 6.5/10

Gomez didn’t do much wrong defensively, but struggled to make an impact going forward.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – 6/10

He did his fair share of defending, but it was not enough this afternoon.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 5/10

The Dutch defender gave away a poor penalty in the first half and looked shaky at the back.

He kept the ball well in tight spaces but has got nothing to show for his efforts.
