Caretaker coach Silvio Baldini will announce his Italy squad for the June friendlies against Luxembourg and Greece on May 25, which will include several debutants and captain Gigio Donnarumma.

Italy’s schedule for 2026 June friendlies

The report claims that Baldini will call up 25 or 26 players, many of whom are debutants from the U21 squad.

Captain Gianluigi Donnarumma will also be called up, while other Azzurri stars, such as Sandro Tonali, might be rested.

Italy have failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup but still have two friendlies to play in June to comply with TV rights obligations.

According to the report, players will arrive at Coverciano in the evening of May 28 and leave for Luxembourg on June 2, on the eve of their first friendly encounter.

The team will return to Italy on June 4 and leave for Greece two days later on June 6. The day after, on June 7, they’ll face Greece at the Pankritio Stadium in Candia.

Baldini has been temporarily promoted from the U21 team, and Carmine Nunziata will lead the Azzurrini for their June friendly against Albania.
