Manchester United are among the leading candidates to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson this summer, with the Brazilian widely expected to leave Bergamo at the end of the season and a €40 million asking price potentially within United’s reach despite competition from Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has declined to rule out a departure, telling Sky Sport that the club have received expressions of interest but no formal offers yet. “We will evaluate everything with great composure and calm at the appropriate time,” he said, a statement that does little to suggest Atalanta will stand in his way if the right bid arrives.
So what would Ederson actually bring to Old Trafford? In short, everything a struggling side desperately needs in the engine room.
