The midfielder was a crucial figure in securing the top spot in the Serie B table, thanks to his eight goals and six assists in 37 games.
There were also two goals in one Coppa Italia appearance this season, and Venezia will be in Serie A next term.
Doumbia moving on from Venezia
However, Doumbia will not be a part of that squad, as Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims that a deal is done with Sporting CP.
It will be worth €20m plus €3m in easy to achieve bonuses, and up to another €3m in harder to activate add-ons, taking the total to a maximum of €26m.
Venezia can also retain a small percentage of the future sale fee.
A product of the Albinoleffe youth academy, Doumbia was sold to Venezia in 2024 for just €1m plus bonuses.
He has three caps for Italy at Under-21 level and is 22 years of age, with dual Italian and Ivorian citizenship.
Doumbia had been targeted by Inter, Milan and Napoli, amongst others.
