Real Madrid could be staring at a sea of changes in the upcoming summer after another campaign that is likely to end without any trophies.
Indeed, after crashing out of the UEFA Champions League against Bayern Munich, the Merengues are alive only in La Liga, where they are already nine points behind leaders Barcelona.
So, unless something drastic happens in the remaining seven matches, the league title also seems out of reach. This could mean the end of manager Alvaro Arbeloa’s tenure, despite him having the support of the locker room.
Lionel Scaloni, Didier Deschamps on the shortlist
And, according to El Mundo, Real Madrid have identified two World Cup-winning managers as potential targets for the summer.
Indeed, Los Blancos are looking at current France manager Didier Deschamps and Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni as candidates for the hot seat at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Deschamps has done an excellent job with the French national team, leading them to the World Cup in 2018 and finals of the tournament four years later in 2022.
That year saw Scaloni lead Argentina to the trophy, beating Les Bleus in the finals.
Both managers have shown excellent capability to handle big-name players with their national teams, which will count as an advantage.
However, Deschamps has not coached a club since 2012, when he was in charge of Marseille. Meanwhile, Scaloni’s only experience at a club was in 2017 when he was the assistant manager of Sevilla.
So, it will be interesting to see how Real Madrid approach the situation and whether they plan to pursue one of Scaloni or Deschamps.
