The names currently in the running are Tony D’Amico of Atalanta and Giovanni Manna of Napoli.
As for the Nerazzurri director, it seemed impossible to convince the Bergamo club, but the scenario is changing.
A waltz of sporting directors is looming that could favor the Roman club.
The Percassi-Pagliuca duo, according to Il Resto del Carlino, is reportedly considering bringing Giovanni Sartori back to the Nerazzurri.
This option would allow the Friedkins to go all-in on reforming the Gasperini-D’Amico partnership.
The biggest obstacle in this grand scenario is Bologna. Sartori is working flat out with Di Vaio and Fenucci to plan for the future.
It’s not out of the question that Atalanta could release D’Amico regardless of his replacement.
The other possibility is Manna, and if Aurelio De Laurentiis decides to let him go, he could go knocking in Bergamo for the same sporting director who is following Roma. One thing is certain: the transfer market for executives is set to heat up this summer.
