Two-time Pro Bowler Bijan Robinson and the Atlanta Falcons reached agreement on a three-year extension worth up to $75 million that now will make him the highest-paid running back in NFL history, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Robinson will receive a record $51 million guaranteed.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley had been the NFL’s highest-paid running back, with his contract worth an annual average of $20.6 million.
Now attention turns to Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who is expected to equal or top Robinson’s contract with his looming deal.
Both Robinson and Gibbs have been hold-ins at the start of their respective training camps with their unsettled contract situation.
