Italy and Milan legend Paolo Maldini surprisingly sent one of his signed match-worn shirts to Barcelona talent Gerard Martin for his birthday: ‘Good luck with your career.’
Former Italy defender Paolo Maldini surprised Barcelona’s Gerard Martin for his birthday by sending one of his match-worn shirts to the Spain international.
Gerard Martin shared a picture of the gift on his Instagram account to thank the ex-Rossoneri star and director.
Maldini also wrote a message in Italian for the Barcelona defender: “To Gerard, happy birthday and good luck with your career. With affection, Paolo Maldini.”
Just like Maldini, Gerard Martin can play as either a left-back or a centre-back, and his Barcelona teammates have nicknamed him ‘Gerard Maldini,’ Sportmediaset reports.
Gerard Martin is under contract with Barcelona until 2028. He has scored one goal and provided six assists in 77 appearances with Barcelona since joining the Catalans in the summer of 2023.
