In the aftermath of the training ground brawl between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde, Real Madrid have launched disciplinary proceedings against both midfielders.

Now, Los Blancos have issued another official statement confirming that Valverde suffered a head injury during the said incident and will be sidelined for two weeks.

“Following tests carried out today on our player Fede Valverde by Real Madrid’s medical staff, he has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury,” the statement read.

“Valverde is at home and in good condition; he will need to rest for between 10 and 14 days, in line with medical protocols for this diagnosis.”

During the brawl inside the locker room, Tchouameni is understood to have punched Valverde, following which the midfielder hit his head on a table.

It left him bloodied and disoriented, and needing to visit the hospital, where he was stitched up.

It has been confirmed now that he has suffered a concussion, leading to Real Madrid announcing that the midfielder will need to rest for around two weeks.

As such, Valverde will now miss Real Madrid’s upcoming El Clasico against FC Barcelona on Sunday, while he might also be unavailable for next week’s fixtures against Real Oviedo and Sevilla.
