PIF wants Konate deal
Konate, 26, is reported to be seeking £200k or more as part of his contract negotiations. Hughes has been unable – or unwilling – to meet those demands and it’s opened up the possibility of Konate departing in summer 2026 when his current deal ends.
Real Madrid and Inter are both reported to be keen on landing the France international according to Sports Boom but they also claim that Saudi Arabia will be right there for the defender’s signature.
“Saudi football chiefs will look to tempt Ibrahima Konate to the Kingdom this summer if Real Madrid and Internazionale decide against firming-up their interest in the Liverpool centre-half,” the report reads.
“The money men tasked with growing the Saudi Pro League are also interested in tabling an offer.”
