The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has announced the Nathaniel MG Cup will not be contested next season.
The domestic leagues cup competition, first contested in 1992-93, has featured clubs from the Cymru Premier and both Cymru North and South.
In recent seasons it has also featured the under-21 sides of Cardiff City, Swansea City and Newport County as wildcard entries.
The FAW said the decision was made following research and "aligns with feedback" received during consultation with clubs.
It also said the expansion of the Cymru Premier to 16 teams from the 2026-27 season will increase pressure on the calendar.
The FAW also confirmed the Welsh Blood Service Cup – for tier two clubs – will also not be played next season.
