Modric will miss the rest of the Serie A season after the blow he received to his face in the match against Juventus. This is according to Croatian media outlet Sportske Novosti: “Luka Modric has a double cheekbone fracture and his season in Milan is over”.
The injury report is frightening ahead of the World Cup, but the midfielder’s compatriots are optimistic: “The captain will play there, probably with a protective mask. It is still unknown what kind of recovery awaits him: surgery or conservative treatment.”
Modric had to be substituted in the match against Juve after taking a tremendous blow to the face from Locatelli that left him K.O. The Croatian left the field with an ice pack on his face
