Inter Miami confirmed on Tuesday that Mascherano has resigned as head coach for personal reasons, bringing an abrupt end to a tenure that had quickly become one of the most successful in Major League Soccer.
"I want to let everyone know that, for personal reasons, I have decided to end my tenure as head coach of Inter Miami CF," Mascherano said in a statement released by the club. He thanked players, staff and supporters, adding: "I will always carry with me the memory of our first star… I have no doubt that the Club will continue to achieve success in the future."
