The trequartista has been a sensation this season, helping Como make history by qualifying for the Champions League and reaching the Coppa Italia semi-final for the first time.
He scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in 40 competitive appearances for the Lariani this term.
Nico Paz injury with Como still not healed
It earned him a spot in the Argentina squad for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, but he arrived having not played the last two Serie A games due to a left knee injury.
Diario AS are concerned and claim that there are fears this is more than a mere knock, as it has still not fully healed, so Nico Paz could have his World Cup dream thrown into doubt.
At the same time, TyC Sports in Argentina are more reassuring, insisting that optimism still prevails in the Seleccion and they are confident he will be ready to play in the tournament.
Nico Paz is undergoing specialist treatment and he continues to feel pain in the left knee, but it is a bone issue more than a ligament one.
The squad is working with Lionel Scaloni in Kansas and preparing for the opening match against Algeria on June 16.
So far, Argentina do not seem to be preparing to call in any replacements in case the Serie A starlet can’t make it.
