Napoli have mathematically qualified for the Champions League with one game to spare, meaning that Rasmus Hojlund will officially complete a permanent €44m transfer to the Stadio Maradona from Manchester United.
Napoli’s3-0 win over Pisa on Sunday secured a top-four finish with one game to spare, paving the way for Hojlund’s permanent transfer from Manchester United.
Hojlund set for permanent Napoli move from Man United
The Denmark international had moved to the Stadio Maradona last summer on an initial €6m loan with an option to buy, which became mandatory with Champions League qualification. Hojlund is now set for a permanent Napoli transfer for an additional €44m fee.
Napoli would have signed Hojlund permanently regardless of Champions League qualification, asdirector Giovanni Manna said in March. Yet, their accomplishment is now official, so Hojlund will surely remain at Napoli beyond the summer.
Hojlund has scored 15 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions this season, collecting over 3,400 minutes of action, and has been the only centre-forward available at the Stadio Maradona for a large part of the season.
On Sunday, he netted a late goal in Napoli’s 3-0 win over Pisa, allowing the Partenopei to qualify for the Champions League with 90 minutes still left to be played in the 2025-26 campaign.
