PSG have a 5-4 aggregate lead over Bayern Munich heading into the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal matchup. Moreover, if the capital club want to advance to a second straight final, they’ll need to do so without Achraf Hakimi.

Hakimi will be sidelined for several weeks after suffering a thigh injury during PSG‘s Champions League semifinal first leg win over Bayern Munich, with the club officially ruling him out of the second leg following medical evaluation, per Reuters.

With arguably the best right-back in the world out of the match, the responsibility falls on Warren Zaïre-Emery.

On May 4, Zaïre-Emery spoke with the media and shared his thoughts on facing Diaz, who made life challenging for PSG in the first leg.

“When you have a player with the quality to do everything, like the front three, it is always difficult to defend,” Zaïre-Emery said (h/t Le10Sport). “We played a good defensive match, but we conceded four goals. When the attackers are at that level, there is no room for mistakes. Regarding Luis Díaz, I will do my best and I will have the help of my teammates as always.”

If the Parisians want a date with Arsenal in the final, their defending will need to be much better than in the first leg, and PSG will also need to ensure Diaz has a quiet night.
