He looked like a fish out of water and, even though he was on the pitch for the full first-half, the Reds may as well have played with 10 men, that's how minimal his impact was.
Admittedly, Jeremie Frimpong wasn’t as poor as the Sweden international but it’s clear that he isn’t cut out to replace the creativity of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
That is, especially if Liverpool are going to stick with a four at the back formation.
The Dutchman has obviously been out injured for the vast majority of the campaign but, now that he's back to full fitness, fans would've been expecting a lot more.
There are moments when the defender looks impressive but, unfortunately, his bad moments have outweigh the good.
Arne Slot needs to get his players on the same wavelength
If Liverpool want to compete for titles and trophies again next season, they seriously need to get their act together.
The 2025-26 campaign has been a complete write-off for the Anfield outfit which is far from ideal.
Apart from the very start of the season and maybe one or two games in between, there's hardly been an outing when fans have been left in awe of Liverpool.
They have some of the Premier League's best players and, if we're being honest, they look like a fraction of their former selves.
And, just to rub more salt into Liverpool's wounds, Luis Diaz is having his best-ever season with Bayern Munich as the Colombian has contributed to 41 goals across all competitions from left-wing.
Liverpool's left-wing has been a major problem area for them this season and, if they didn't move the 29-year-old on, they could've been in a much better place.
If Slot keeps his job next term, he must ensure that all of his players get on the same wavelength and want to play with each other, not against.
Otherwise, things could go from bad to worse and they could end up even further down the Premier League table than they currently find themselves.
