According to multiple sources within the club, Inter Miami has accepted President Donald Trump's invitation to celebrate the conquest of the 2025 MLS Cup, the first of these championships achieved during the Messi era.
The ceremony is scheduled for March 5, taking advantage of the fact that "The Herons" will be in the U.S. capital for their matchup against D.C. United on March 7 at Audi Field. The full squad is expected to attend the event, which would mark Lionel Messi’s first official visit to the seat of the United States government.
It is worth remembering that the Argentine star was unable to attend in January 2025 to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from then-president Joe Biden due to scheduling conflicts. On this occasion, Messi's presence takes on special relevance, positioning him as the second major global soccer icon to meet with Trump in recent months, following Cristiano Ronaldo's attendance at a gala dinner last November.
