FC Barcelona’s elimination from the Champions League quarter-finals against Atletico Madrid has left deep disappointment among the players, the staff, and the fanbase.
Despite winning the second leg at the Metropolitano 2-1 last night, the Blaugrana fell short as Atleti progressed to the semi-finals on aggregate (2-3).
It meant another European disappointment for Barça, who have now gone 11 years without winning the most coveted trophy on the continent.
Lamine Yamal believes
Amid the collective disappointment, Lamine Yamal has sent a message to the fans that encapsulates self-criticism, ambition and a clear commitment to the Barcelona project.
“We gave it our all, but it wasn’t enough. This is just part of the journey: to reach the top, you have to climb, and we know it won’t be easy, nor will they make it easy for us. But giving up is not an option,” Lamine’s message started.

Looking at the positives, the teenage superstar added: “We have plenty of reasons to be hopeful, and we’re going to go all out for them. Every mistake is a lesson, and rest assured, we’ll learn from each one.”
Concluding, Lamine vowed to keep his word to the fans and take Barcelona where they belong.
“We are Barça, and we’ll be back where we belong. My parents taught me that a man’s word is his bond… and we’ll bring that to Barcelona.”
Almost every player and club official had highlighted the fact that winning the Champions League was their biggest goal for the season.
Last night’s result, though, brought an end to that ambition, but Lamine makes it clear that he and Barcelona are not giving up.
