Ousmane Dembélé (28) won his first Ballon d’Or back in September, having guided Paris Saint-Germain to a maiden triumph in the UEFA Champions League. His PSG teammate, Khvicha Kvartskhelia (25), says that he believes that Dembélé can repeat the feat.
This season has been injury-hit for Dembélé. Nonetheless, the France international has made 32 appearances at club level this season, and as we get towards the business end of the season, he is stepping up once again.
It was his brace at Anfield on Tuesday night that secured PSG’s place in the semi-finals of this season’s Champions League. Speaking post-match, Kvaratskhelia spoke glowingly of his team-mate. “There is nothing to add on Dembélé. We saw him again this evening. He is an exceptional player,” said the Georgia international in a mixed zone interview attended by Get French Football News.
He added, “It is why he is the winner of the Ballon d’Or. He is capable of winning it multiple times. We are very happy to have him in our team.”
