James Rodriguez was back in action for Minnesota United and this time he left better news than in previous performances. The Colombian was in the starting lineup in front of his home fans and, although he could not prevent his team’s defeat to LAFC (0-1), he offered good feelings after the 63 minutes he was on the pitch.
He was participative, created danger with long-range shots, showed his enormous talent in the last pass and continued to evolve physically. After the match, the Colombian spoke optimistically about his preparation for the World Cup, where he promises to arrive in full condition with Colombia.
"I'm going to be fine, I'm going to be in very good shape. There's a month to go and I'm training well, to the maximum, as I have always done and whatever I have to play here is going to help me,” he said.
James was looking for a goal
"I felt very good, for the first game here I was fine. It's a pity that we lost, but a game is not how much is left, but how much you influence on the field. We have had chances, we have to continue on this path, on Tuesday we have a Cup game and we have to get out in a very good way,” he said.
"I wanted to score today, that's why I was trying from all sides. Whatever I can contribute to the team, whether playing a lot or a little, I will want to be well, I will compete to help and whatever I have to play now," he reiterated.
James' accounts for the World Cup
James Rodriguez seems to have it all figured out, despite the concern in Colombia about the few minutes he was accumulating since his arrival in MLS. "There are six games left before the World Cup and I’m fine, whatever I have to play, whether it’s a lot or a little, I’m going to do it in a very good way,” he said.
Finally, he thanked the support of the Minnesota fans, who were able to see him shine for the first time. "The support of all of them is nice, that means that I have done things well in my career, in soccer and the support of them, which is from the heart, is something nice,” he said.
