Ipswich Town have appointed David Wright as their permanent manager.

The Tractor Girls announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Wright has been leading Ipswich Town on an interim basis throughout the second half of the season and his reign has provided a significant upturn in results. The Suffolk club have collected 12 of their 17 points this season since the winter break.

Wright has impressed the Ipswich Town hierarchy and the club have rewarded him with the first team manager role on a permanent basis.

After signing on permanently with Ipswich Town, Wright said “I am extremely honoured to become manager of Ipswich Town Women.

“I have really enjoyed leading this team over the past few months and I’m so pleased to be taking on this role.

“The players and staff have worked so hard since I’ve come in and that’s been evident in the performances the girls have put in since the turn of the year.

“We still have work to do in our final two games and we will be doing everything we can to end the campaign on a high.”

Ipswich Town are in action this weekend when they travel to Birmingham City in Barclays WSL2.
