Inter are prepared to sign Swiss defender Akanji on a permanent deal from Manchester City for €15m, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Akanji joined the Nerazzurri on loan with an option to buy last summer, and Inter are now ready to make his move permanent.
According to Romano, the deal will be formalised in May.
Inter are preparing for a defensive overhaul in the 2026-27 campaign, given that three of their defenders, Francesco Acerbi, Stefan de Vrij and Matteo Darmian see their contracts expire in June.
According to Gazzetta, 38-year-old De Vrij is the only one who might be offered a new deal, while Acerbi and Darmian are expected to leave at the end of the season.
According to multiple sources, the Serie A table leaders have already reached a verbal agreement with Sassuolo centre-back Tarik Muharemovic, but the Bosnia and Herzegovina international is not the only possible summer reinforcement at the back.
Gazzetta, in fact, reports that the Nerazzurri have begun preliminary talks with Udinese over 26-year-old centre-back Solet, who will be allowed to leave for an offer between €20m and €25m.
