Inter Milan midfielder Petar Sucic couldn’t hide his excitement after scoring the ‘most important’ goal of his career in last night’s win over Como.
Speaking to Radio TV Serie A via FCInterNews, the 22-year-old also reiterated Inter’s ambition to win a long-awaited domestic double.
Petar Sucic has experienced mixed fortunes in his first season at San Siro.
However, he stepped up when Inter needed him most, scoring a last-gasp winner off the bench to propel his side into the Coppa Italia final.
Indeed, the former Dinamo Zagreb star, who replaced Piotr Zielinski at the hour mark, helped his side pull off a massive comeback.
After Hakan Calhanoglu scored a brace to cancel out Como’s two-goal lead, Sucic completed the turnaround with his first goal since January.
In doing so, he catapulted the Nerazzurri into their first Coppa Italia final in three years.
Meanwhile, they’ll face either Lazio or Atalanta in the title-deciding fixture.
Petar Sucic Proud of His Most Important Goal After Inter Milan 3-2 Como Win
“I’m happy if I can help my team, so in the end the only important thing is that we won the match,” Sucic said after the game. “It doesn’t matter who scores or who provides assists.
“If we score three goals with our goalkeeper, we are happy. Now we will go to the final.
“I don’t know if it’s the most important goal of my career. I’ve scored important goals so far, but for now I think it is, because it takes us to the Coppa Italia final.”
“Playing in these kinds of matches means everything for a footballer,” the Croatian ace continued, “because we play football for this.
“We want to win trophies, we want to succeed, as everyone does in their job.
“We just want to give our best and win trophies, because we play for this fantastic club.”
