Ange-Yoan Bonny limped off during Inter’s win over Genoa and is expected to miss the Coppa Italia semi-final against Como, but could recover to face Milan.
The Nerazzurri put their Champions League disappointment behind them with a 2-0 result at San Siro last night, thanks to goals from Federico Dimarco and Hakan Calhanoglu.
Bonny hobbled off the field with a muscular issue and coach Cristian Chivu said in post-match interviews he did not know what the problem was.
Inter dealing with Bonny problem
According to multiple reports, Bonny is still not fully recovered, although tests to show potential lesions are considered unnecessary for now.
It therefore seems unlikely the former Parma striker will be picked for Tuesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Como.
With Lautaro Martinez already out for a while with a calf strain he suffered against Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League play-off, this leaves few alternatives.
Marcus Thuram should therefore partner Francesco Pio Esposito upfront in the traditional 3-5-2 formation.
Inter do not want to take any risks, as next weekend is the Derby della Madonnina with Serie A rivals Milan.
