Transfer rumours are beginning to swirl around Jon Martin, but the Real Sociedad defender has made it clear where his focus lies – on his current club.
In recent weeks, the young centre-back has been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid, with reports suggesting he could be the next domestic defensive addition following names like Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras last summer.
Given Madrid’s ongoing defensive reshuffle, it is no surprise that emerging talents in Spain are being closely monitored.
Martin’s situation has naturally attracted attention, especially due to his reported €50 million release clause – a figure that, in today’s market, is seen as relatively accessible for a player with strong potential and room to grow.
That combination of price and promise has placed him firmly on the radar of top clubs, including interest from Barcelona as well.
Player responds to growing transfer noise
Speaking about the increasing speculation in an interview with AS, Martin admitted that avoiding the noise is almost impossible, even if he tries to stay focused.

“It’s impossible not to hear about it because everyone’s talking about it.
“You’re away and, whether you like it or not, you see it – even my friends tell me about it because they’re out and about all day looking at things.
“Somehow it ends up reaching you, but as I say, I’m still focused on working with Real.”
With both Real Madrid and Barcelona linked, the situation could easily become overwhelming for a young player. However, Martin remains composed and clear about his priorities.
“I’ve seen a bit of it; in the end, a lot of things get said, but I don’t know anything and, to be honest, I’m not worried.
“My view is what I’ve already said: to stay focused on Real Sociedad,” he concluded.
