A sobering statistic is the number of points earned in the second half of the season.
Roma have earned the same number of points as Lazio, Fiorentina, and Sassuolo, and even one less than Genoa. Fourth place now seems out of reach, with Juventus now five points ahead and the head-to-head match in their favor.
But, as Corriere della Sera writes, qualifying for the Europa League is the minimum objective the owners don’t want to miss.
With the team still fighting for a place in European competition, the key to Roma’s future will be how this season ends.
The owners have made it clear that results will be crucial, starting with this Saturday’s match against Bologna. It’s a must-win match. To do so, Gasperini will be able to count on Wesley, but not yet on Koné. Dybala’s recovery, however, is in doubt.
