Arsenal’s summer transfer window hasn’t quite got going yet. The Premier League champions have missed out on Morgan Rogers to Chelsea and the only major deal they have thus far closed is turning defender Piero Hincapié’s loan move into a permanent deal for €40 million. Commendable club servant Leandro Trossard has already departed to Turkish side Besiktas, and the latest reports suggest that fellow winger Gabriel Martinelli is also up for sale.

The 25-year-old Brazilian scored just one Premier League goal last season and has a market value of €45m. Like Trossard, Martinelli has given everything for Mikel Arteta’s team and will always be welcomed back to the Emirates after his sacrifices for the Gunners, but quality-wise – he is just not good enough to be a starter. Atlético Madrid
Martinelli's never say die attitude and relentless running going forward and defensively would make him perfectly suited to play for Diego Simeone's fierce Atlético Madrid. The Spanish giants are reportedly interested in the Brazilian, whose pace and directness would certainly add something to the Metropolitano.
Manchester United
Some reports suggest that Premier League rivals Manchester United are also interested in signing Martinelli. The Red Devils have tweaked their recruitment approach in the last couple of windows to focus on signing players with Premier League experience and Martinelli would fit that mould. It remains to be seen though as to whether Arsenal would consider strengthening one of their rivals.
Juventus
Serie A giants Juventus are another club who are thought to be keen on adding Martinelli to their ranks this summer. The Old Lady endured another difficult campaign last term and need to start making some smart signings if they are to return to former glory. Martinelli could thrive in the Italian top flight.
Newcastle
Another team who are desperate for reinforcements are Newcastle. They have already lost Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali this summer, and further stars could also depart. Martinelli’s speed could suit Eddie Howe’s counter act style primed on quick transitions, and the Magpies have got money in the bank. Midfielder Bruno Guimarães also wants to make a move the other way to the Emirates.
