Barcelona took another strong step towards the La Liga title with a hard-earned 2-1 win away at Osasuna, and manager Hansi Flick made it clear after the match that the job is far from finished.
The result puts Barcelona in a commanding position, but their title celebrations will depend on what happens when Real Madrid face Espanyol.
For now, Flick’s focus remained firmly on his own team’s effort rather than outside results.
Speaking after the final whistle, the German coach stressed the importance of staying disciplined and working as a unit against a difficult opponent.
He said, “We have to wait. We did our job and I appreciate that. The team performed very well against a very strong opponent and we defended well.”
Match analysis
Barcelona looked comfortable for large parts of the first half, but Flick admitted that changes were needed after the break to maintain their edge.
Explaining his decisions, he pointed to both tactical awareness and game management.
“We were in control in the first half. We tried to change things up a bit. De Jong came on for Gavi, who was on a yellow card.
“We took a few more risks, played at a faster pace and with more pace thanks to Rashford and Ferran.”

Flick also took time to reflect on the team’s journey this season. Injuries have disrupted the rhythm at various stages, yet the squad has continued to grow.
The manager was open about the challenge while highlighting the positives.
“We’ve had to cope with a lot of injuries, and that’s something we need to improve on next season.
“What we’re doing is fantastic; they’ve improved a great deal, and that makes me feel positive about the future. It’s a young team with a lot of potential.”
Title celebration
Lastly, when asked whether he would prefer to secure the title directly on the pitch or benefit from a slip by Madrid, Flick kept his answer grounded.
“We’ve done our job by winning here, and now it’s out of our hands. We have to wait for Espanyol’s match tomorrow, so it doesn’t depend on us.
“The important thing is to win a title, and we’ll celebrate when we can win it.”
He ended the press conference on a lighter note, joking about his plans for the evening, stating, “I might just go with my wife to see Mago Pop.”
