Fabregas committed to Como for 2026-27
“We’ve had a long meeting with the President and the director; we are creating a mentality. From now on, we start preparing for a new, tough and different season,” Fabregas toldSky Sport.
Fabregas gave his interview during Como’sopen-top bus parade, celebrating a historic top-four finish with their fans.
It was a largely unexpected feat for the Azzurri, who were among the highest spenders in Serie A but had only the 11th-largest wage bill in the league.
“I’m very happy here, you know that. I’m missing one or two steps more, and I’m learning so much,” Fabgregas continued.
“The growth of this club has been too fast; we’ve been pushing expectations for two and a half years. We are aware of who we are, and we have a clear vision. The demands of the Champions League are high. If you are not prepared, you concede six goals in certain stadiums.”
Como formally own Nico Paz, but Real Madrid have an option to re-sign the Argentine until June 2027.
“He’s a very important player for our growth,” Fabregas said.
“We’ve grown with him, and he’s grown with us. It’s an important match, let’s see what happens, but we want him to stay.”
Nico Paz has just completed his second season at Como and has been voted as the best midfielder in the league during the 2025-26 campaign.
Inter are long-time admirers of the 21-year-old, but Fabregas said a few weeks ago that Paz will either play for Como or Real Madrid in 2026-27.
