Antonio Cassano blasted Inter Milan star striker Marcus Thuram amid intense rumors linking the Frenchman with a summer exit.
During the latest episode of Viva El Futbol via FCInterNews, Cassano challenged Ticus’ qualities.
Marcus Thuram has endured a disappointing season by his standards.
Indeed, the 28-year-old has tallied just 15 goals and seven assists across 38 appearances in all competitions.
Furthermore, he has scored only ten goals in 25 Serie A games so far.
However, the Frenchman has hit his stride when it mattered most, finding the net in a 5-2 thrashing of Roma after the international break.
Moreover, his brace initiated inter’s comeback against Como last weekend.
Nevertheless, this could be Thuram’s last season at San Siro, with several Saudi Pro League clubs keen to lure him away from Serie A.
Meanwhile, Premier League giants Newcastle United have emerged as potential suitors for the former Borussia Monchengladbach center-forward.
Antonio Cassano Slams Inter Milan Megastar Marcus Thuram
Cassano believes Thuram would not play a prominent role at Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the former AC Milan and Roma striker insists Thuram is a difference-maker in Serie A.
“He’s not a top player, but everyone has their own opinion,” Cassano said. “For me, he’s a great player in Italy, that’s for sure.
“However, in a team like PSG or City, he would struggle to play as a first or second striker.
“I see him in a 4-3-3 as a left winger. To play in these teams, you need to score 50 goals a year, like Haaland, for example.
“Thuram is still missing something, even though it’s true that last year he did well against Bayern and Barcelona in the Champions League.”
Thuram’s current contract at San Siro runs until 2028. Yet, Inter could offer the Frenchman a new deal in the coming months.
