Eduardo Camavinga’s chances of going to this summer’s FIFA World Cup are diminishing, according to a report from Téléfoot.

Camavinga has struggled to establish himself at Real Madrid since making the move from formative club Stade Rennais. His future at the Bernabeu is coming under increasing scrutiny, and his red card against Bayern Munich, which led to Los Blancos’ exit from the UEFA Champions League, has not furthered his case to remain at the club beyond this summer.

And it could be a summer without international football for Camavinga. As per Téléfoot, Didier Deschamps is looking to take five midfielders to this summer’s FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

There are five players currently ahead of him in the pecking order: Aurélien Tchouaméni, Warren Zaire-Emery, Adrien Rabiot, Manu Koné, and N’Golo Kanté. In the final weeks of the season, Camavinga will have to either shake up that hierarchy or hope that Deschamps takes an extra midfielder than currently forecasted.
