The 32-year-old commented following last week’s Serie A game that he fully expected these to be his final matches in the Giallorossi jersey, as negotiations over a new deal have hit a brick wall.
According to multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, a crucial meeting will be held today with agent Carlos Novel and the Roma directors.
Dybala future at Roma in doubt
Despite numerous injuries, La Joya has still contributed three goals and five assists in 25 competitive matches so far this season, and returned in time for the final Champions League places push.
The former Palermo and Juventus star came to the Eternal City as a free agent in 2022 and his current contract only runs to June 30.
Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is believed to be pushing the club to offer Dybala a renewal, and he is getting more power following the ousting of Claudio Ranieri and imminently Frederic Massara too.
Other players whose contracts are running down this summer are Lorenzo Pellegrini, Stephan El Shaarawy and Zeki Celik.
