Serie A giants Roma have seen the hostile situation between Claudio Ranieri and Gian Piero Gasperini boil over across the last two weeks. But it seems like the club senior advisor will not be sacked by the ownership.
La Gazzetta dello Sporttake a close look at the situation, clarifying that the Italian retains the trust of the Friedkins despite everything that has gone wrong.
The American owners want both Gasperini and Ranieri to work together at least until the end of the season and come to a moderate opinion about one other and work together again. It is also believed that Ranieri’s words after the game against Pisa were simply his way of defending players, when Gasperini was seemingly quite harsh on the squad.
Besides, Ranieri is also keen to prove himself in an advisor capacity. He has a contract until 2027 and the Friedkins spoken to many sources to confirm Ranieri’s qualities as a person and they only received positive feedback. That is why he will stay in Rome until the end of the season or even beyond that.
