Robert Lewandowski’s future at Barcelona beyond this season remains in doubt, especially with word coming out that he is opposed to taking a pay cut on his renewal.
However, recent reports have denied that development and claimed that the striker has not even been offered a renewal thus far.
Given his age and dwindling numbers, it makes sense for the Catalans to let the Polish star leave in June, as it is high time that a younger player takes over at centre-forward.
Regardless of whether he leaves or stays, however, it is clear that Lewandowski will go down as a legend for the club, simply for how he arrived when the team was at an all-time low and helped as a pillar in the rebuild.
A vital cog against Celta Vigo
For what remains of the season, the Polish striker will remain an important player in Flick’s plans as he has been so far in the campaign. As reported by MARCA, he could well be a lethal weapon against Celta Vigo tomorrow night.

Lewandowski’s numbers against the Galician side, after all, are extraordinary, and he has started seven times against them in recent years. Of them, Barcelona won five, drew once and lost once.
In the seven games against Celta Vigo, the veteran star has scored eight goals, including a hat-trick earlier this season. He also scored two braces in the 2023-24 season and one goal last season against the same opponent.
Lewandowski has only failed to score in three of his seven meetings against Celta Vigo and will look to keep his special run against them going tomorrow night.
It remains to be seen if Hansi Flick offers him a starting spot tomorrow, especially given how Ferran Torres has shown promise in recent games.
Even if he only has minutes off the bench, however, the former Bayern Munich star will look to add to his goalscoring numbers on the night.
