Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski finds himself at a crossroads.
While doubts continue to grow around his future at the club, the veteran striker is closing in on a major personal milestone that could place him in football’s storied history.
There is no doubt that the 37-year-old forward remains one of the most consistent forwards of his generation.
So far in his career, he already has 12 domestic league titles to his name, having won 10 Bundesliga titles and three La Liga honours, putting him level with elite names such as Lionel Messi, David Alaba and Francisco Gento.
A record in sight
Hence, if Barcelona go on to win the league this season, Lewandowski would move to 13 titles, breaking away from that group and joining an even more exclusive list.
Simply put, players like Ryan Giggs, Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer and Kingsley Coman currently lead the rankings with that number.
Just behind them sit other well-known names such as Thiago Alcantara, Arjen Robben, Paul Scholes and Gianluigi Buffon, all with 11 league titles.

Despite this potential achievement, Lewandowski’s current season has not been straightforward.
Under Hansi Flick, his role has been managed more carefully, with several appearances coming from the bench rather than as a regular starter.
Naturally, this shift has raised questions about his long-term role in the squad.
While his experience and goal-scoring instinct remain valuable, Barcelona appear to be gradually planning for the future.
Contract uncertainty putting future in doubt
The bigger concern now revolves around his contract situation. Lewandowski’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, and so far, there has been no clear progress on a renewal.
This has opened the door to speculation, as the striker is believed to have received attractive offers from elsewhere, which could tempt him to consider a new challenge before bringing his career to a close.
At the same time, Barcelona are actively exploring options in the transfer market, meaning the club is preparing itself for the veteran’s exit in the summer.
