In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Arsenal are facing stiff competition for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez. It has been mentioned that the Gunners would have to rival Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign the Argentine forward in the upcoming transfer window.
Alvarez’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football
Alvarez has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Madrid club in this campaign after putting in a handful of productive displays as the focal point of Diego Simeone’s attack. The Argentina international has banged in 19 goals and earned nine assists in 47 matches for Atletico Madrid this season across all competitions.
The 26-year-old is currently among the most feared strikers in European football. Thus, it is no surprise that the Gunners are in the running to land him at the end of this season.
His current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Arsenal to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Arsenal Are Facing Stiff Competition For Alvarez: Is He Worth The Fight?
Alvarez is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer some decent chances for his teammates in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The Argentina international can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. Alvarez is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if asked to do so. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to settle into life at Arsenal.
Alvarez would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team place at the Emirates Stadium next season.
At 26, Alvarez’s best years are ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the Gunners to consider in the summer transfer window. He might even help Arsenal challenge for some major trophies in the coming years. Alvarez would be well worth the fight, so Arteta should focus on going all out to land him later this year.
