Arsenal fans will be encouraged to welcome the team bus to the Emirates Stadium ahead of Tuesday’s match against Atletico Madrid, in a break from the usual matchday traditions.

Following a request by REDaction Gooners, plans are being put in place for Arsenal fans to welcome the Gunners’ team bus to the Emirates Stadium for Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final match against Atletico Madrid.
In general, the Arsenal team bus arrives at the Emirates to very little fanfare, partly because the tight streets around the stadium make it something the club aren’t likely to be too keen to encourage.

But Football.London report that on this occasion things will be different, with supporters encouraged to welcome the team bus between 17:30 and 18:15. The intention is to show support for the team and intimidate their opponents.
As for where the event is set to take place, the report suggests it will be on Hornsey Road, Bear roundabout (which is near the main club store ‘The Armoury’), Benwell Road, and Queensland Road.

Atletico fans performed a similar pre-match routine, welcoming both team buses to their home ground with chants and flares on Wednesday. Arsenal supporters now have the chance to provide a similarly encouraging (or intimidating) atmosphere ahead of the second leg.
