UEFA have confirmed their nominees for the Champions League Player of the Week award, with Arsenal’s Martin Zubimendi joining Dani Olmo of FC Barcelona, Ousmane Dembele of Paris Saint-Germain, and Michael Olise of Bayern Munich.
Despite progressing to the semi-finals, no Atletico Madrid player received a nomination, likely due to the fact they lost to Barcelona on the night. Voting for the award is currently open here.

Zubimendi has already been awarded the Player of the Match award for his performance against Sporting CP, bouncing back from criticism of his display against Bournemouth over the weekend.
The midfielder looked to be back to his best in the quarter-final second-leg clash, though he wasn’t named in WhoScored’s Team of the Quarter-Finals.
Instead, William Saliba made the team for his performances over the two legs, earning a 7.20 average rating for the tie.

With Arsenal keeping clean sheets home and away against Sporting, it seems only fair that one of the Gunners’ defenders made it in.
Paris Saint-Germain were the only other team not to concede across both legs, hence the inclusions of goalkeeper Matvey Safonov and centre-back Willian Pacho in the lineup.
