Alexander Isak mess likely forces Liverpool to abandon transfer

Football Insider reports that Liverpool may abandon a move for Anthony Gordon because of the difficulties around Isak. The Reds’ record transfer has had an incredibly difficult start to life at Anfield.

First, there was the massive delay in actually signing him. That delay saw Isak go on strike at Newcastle United, eliminating his pre-season. It wasn't until the very end of the transfer window that he signed.

And so Isak arrived unfit. It took months for him to get up to speed – a time period in which Liverpool struggled badly. He wasn't actually near fitness for very long before a leg break took him out long-term.
