FC Barcelona are active in the transfer market with multiple positions under consideration. The sporting department has clear priorities – a new centre-back and a centre-forward, along with a left-winger.

The Catalans have also identified their preferred targets for the said positions, but are also listening to interesting proposals and exploring other potential deals.

Wesley Fofana offered to Barcelona

In one such operation, Sky Sports (h/t SPORT) reports that Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has been offered to Barcelona ahead of the summer, and initial discussions regarding conditions have taken place with his representatives.

Fofana’s agents have already held several conversations with Deco about this possibility and have indicated that Chelsea are open to letting the player leave after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Chelsea would prefer to sell the player for a fee close to €30 million. However, Barcelona would only consider the move if it were structured as a loan with an option to buy.

While not a priority, the Blaugrana have gathered information on the player as a potential alternative for the centre-back position under favourable financial conditions.

The 25-year-old Chelsea defender has played 34 times this season in all competitions, managing two assists as well.

The Frenchman has a contract with the Blues until 2029, but a summer exit is very much possible, with a fee of €30 million being quoted. However, they could open the doors to a loan departure.

Several clubs from Italy are also said to be interested, so Barcelona will have to move quickly if they wish to close the deal.
